What a Real Weld Test Video Should Prove Before an RFQ

A useful weld proof video should show process, model, material, thickness, parameters, and weld result clearly enough for a buyer to continue the technical conversation.

A useful weld proof video should show process, model, material, thickness, parameters, and weld result clearly enough for a buyer to continue the technical conversation.

A proof video is not a brand film

For welding equipment buyers, a short real weld video can be more useful than a polished brand film. The purpose is not to create atmosphere. The purpose is to show whether the machine can do the work.

A good proof video helps the buyer understand the process, the application, and the result. It also helps the factory answer follow-up questions without guessing.

What should be visible

The machine or model family

The buyer should know which product the video is connected to. If the exact model is not shown, the video should at least identify the product family and process.

The process

MIG/MAG, pulsed MIG/MAG, TIG AC/DC, low-spatter MIG, and robotic welding should not be mixed into one vague video label. The process is the first filter buyers use.

The material and thickness

A weld on thin aluminum is not the same proof as a weld on medium carbon steel. A useful video should state material and thickness clearly.

Basic parameters

The buyer may not need every internal setting, but current, voltage, wire, gas, travel condition, and torch or feeder setup can make the proof much more credible. If duty cycle or longer-run performance is part of the claim, that should be documented separately.

The weld result

The final bead matters. Buyers want to see bead shape, visible spatter level, surface finish, heat effect, and consistency.

Why the video library should be searchable

One video on one product page is not enough. A buyer may start from a process, a material, a thickness, or a model family. A real video library lets the buyer filter and compare proof from different angles.

That is why DEYUN connects the Video Proof Library back to process pages and product pages. The video proves the product, while the process page organizes the buying decision.

What to ask after watching

After a buyer watches a proof video, the next questions should become more specific:

  • Is this the same material and thickness range I need?
  • Is the machine configured with the same input power and accessories?
  • Is this result repeatable in my production or repair environment?
  • Which model is closest to this proof?
  • What documents should I request before quotation?

Proof should reduce uncertainty

The goal of a proof video is not to answer every technical question. It should reduce uncertainty enough for a focused RFQ.

When a video shows process, model, material, thickness, parameters, and result, the buyer and the factory can speak about the same thing. That is when the quotation conversation becomes more focused and useful.
